911 and the “Last Crisis” – Part Two
911 and the Destruction of the Twin Towers in New York
Destination Yisra’el – “It was in the year of 1909, Ellen Gould White, a major voice of the Second Great Awakening in the 1840s was visiting the city of New York. In the midst of the night, a visionary experience compelled her to write the following manuscript in the early morning hours. It is concerning what she saw as “buildings” that raised “story by story into the heavens. These buildings were built for the glory and power of their owners yet even. Even though they were considered to be fireproof, they were consumed by a fiery inferno. The fire departments were unable to do anything and their engines were destroyed in the conflagration.
Considered a visionary, touched by the gift of the Divine to witness beyond the veil that limits three-dimensional man from witnessing the great workings of the Divine, she saw that this moment of time was in a time in the future, during the “Last Crisis” upon Planet Earth.
Strange as it may seem, written when she was at the age of 81 years, this account was printed in the “9th Testimonies” as a warning to her people, and even more strange the document began on the “11th page” that was first compiled in print in 1948, the year of the Declaration of the Zionist State of Israel. Was this a prophetic imagery of the future 911? You will be the judge! Now you can read the “rest of the story”.
Ellen Gould White – “We are living in the time of the end. The fast-fulfilling signs of the times declare that the coming of the Messiah is near at hand. The days in which we believe are solemn and important. The Spirit of G-d is greatly but surely being withdrawn from the earth. Plagues and judgments are already falling upon the despisers of the grace of G-d. The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war, are portentous. They forecast approaching events of the greatest Magnitude.
The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidation. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take the place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones.
The condition of things in the world shows that troublous times are right upon us. The daily papers are full of indications of a terrible conflict in the near future. Bold robberies are of frequent occurrence. Strikes are common. Thefts and murders are committed on every hand. Men possessed of demons are taking the lives of men, women, and little children. Men have become infatuated with vice, and every species of evil prevails.
The enemy has succeeded in perverting justice and in filling men’s hearts with the desire for selfish gain. “Justice stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street and equity cannot enter.” (Isaiah 59:14).
In the great cities there are multitudes living in poverty and wretchedness, well-nigh destitute of food, shelter, and clothing; while in the same cities are those who have more than heart could wish, who live luxuriously, spending their money on richly furnished houses, on personal adornment, or worse still, upon the gratification of sensual appetites, upon liquor, tobacco, and other things that destroy the powers of the brain, unbalance the mind, and debase the soul. The cried of starving humanity are coming up before G-d, while by every species of oppression and extortion men are piling up colossal fortunes."
Man’s Lofty Dreams will be Destroyed unless they come to Glorify G-d
On one occasion, when in New York, I saw in the night season called upon to behold buildings rising story after story toward heaven. These buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and they were erected to glorify their owners and builder. Higher and still higher these building rose, and in them the most costly material was used. Those to whom these buildings belonged were not asking themselves; “How can we best glorify G-d? The L-rd was not in their thoughts.
I thought: Oh, that those who are thus investing their means could see the course as G-d sees it! They are piling up magnificent building, but how foolish in the sight of the Ruler of the Universe is their planning and devising. They are not studying with all the powers of heart and mind how they may glory G-d. They have lost sight of this, the first duty of man.”
As these lofty buildings went up, the owners rejoiced with ambitious pride that they had money to use in gratifying self and provoking the envy of their neighbors. Much of the money that they thus invested has been obtained through exaction, through grinding down the poor. They forgot that in heaven an account of every business transaction is kept; every unjust deal, every fraudulent act, is there recorded. The time is coming when in their fraud and insolence men will reach a point that the L-rd will not permit them to pass, and they will learn that there is a limit to the forbearance of Adonai the L-rd.
The scene that next passed before me was an alarm of fire. Men looked at the lofty and supposedly fireproof building and said: “They are perfectly safe.” But these building were consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines could do nothing to stay the destruction. The firemen were unable to operate the engines.
I am instructed that when the L-rd’s time comes, should no change have taken place in the hearts of proud ambitious human beings, men will find that the hand that had been strong to save will be strong to destroy. No earthly power can stay the hand of G-d. No material can be used in the erection of buildings that will preserve them from destruction when G-d’s appointed time comes to send retribution on men for their disregard of His law (Torah) and for their selfish ambition.”

Let us analyze this fire catastrophe in New York that was visualized during the “night season” while Ellen White was visiting New York in the year of 1909. To highlight this dream, Ellen White's 1909 visionary dream predicted that:
- The New York skyline of the future would be filled with Skyscrapers that would “reach story after story to heaven.”
- These buildings would be built of material that would be considered fireproof and not combustible.
- An alarm would be sent out of a great fire, but would be ignored by people on the ground for they believed that these "lofty" buildings were "perfectly safe."
- These skyscrapers would “burn as pitch”.
- The fire engines wouldn't be able to stop or quench the fiery inferno.
- The firemen wouldn't be able to operate their fire engines.
- The buildings would fall.
- The fearfulness of it all would be incomprehensible.
The Park Row Building, the largest Skyscraper in New York City when Ellen White visited in 1909.
In the year of year of 1909, the tallest skyscraper standing in New York had of recent been the Park Row Building. It was built in the year of 1899 and rose up into the sky at 391 feet (139 m.). It was recognized as the tallest office building in the world from 1899 to 1908 when the Singer Building was built. At 29 stories and 2, three-story cupolas, it was made of 8,000 tons of steel and 12,000 tons of brick and terra cotta.
We must take notice that during White’s visionary dream, it was noted that there would someday be skyscrapers that rise higher and higher into the heavens that would be considered to be “fireproof” and “not combustible”. How could Ellen White even imagine skyscrapers that would “reach into the heavens” would exist on Planet Earth and dared to even report it in the year of 2001?
So one hundred years later, the dream of Ellen White carried a new dimension for in the year of 2001, the two tallest buildings in the world were the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center nearby to where the Whites were staying. Yet, the world had changed, the peak of the largest of the dual Twin Towers “reached into the heavens” at 1,368 feet (417 m.) and with its spire into the heavens at 1,727 feet (527.3 m.) over 4 ½ times higher than the Park Row Building. Can we even imagine that today in 2012, the tallest of the Towers of Babel is the Burj Khalifa standing in the Middle East in the nation of Dubai at the United Arab Emirates at 2,717 feet (822 m.) and
At 29 stories, the Park Row Building would not be recognized as a tall building today, compared to the Empire State Building that was built in 1931 at 102 stories and 1,250 feet (381 m) tall and today is recognized as only the 20th tallest building in the world, and the tallest building again in New York after the destruction of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 and retained that stature until the “Freedom Tower” the first of the next cluster of mega-skyscrapers will be completed in the year of 2013.
What is of interest is that the foundation of the Park Row building in 1899 was constructed of 3,900 Georgia spruce piles that was driven into the wet sand and topped by granite blocks. With wood being used as part of the foundation of these skyscraper, the interior construction would have been have been decorated with wood paneling and wooden doors. It truly could not be called a building that was “considered fireproof and not combustible.

It was in the year of 1889 that the New York World Building began its construction and completed it on 1890. In that year it stood at 20 stories, topping the building standard construction in New York of 16 to 18 stories at 284 feet (94 m). This building became known as the Pulitzer Building for is owner, Joseph Pulitzer’s private office ascended to the second story of the dome as he commanded the elite view of the city from his penthouse office suite.
It was during the 1890s that there became a competition or race as to who would build the largest building in the city of New York and in the world. The fever was contagious and the ownership was dominated by the newspaper companies along Park Roe. This included the Tribune Building (1876), the Potter Building (1886), old Times Building (1889), the St. Paul Building (1895–1898), and the Park Row Building (1899).
This competition went for five years, and when it was over, the New York World Building won the as the city’s first skyscraper to reach higher into the heavens than the 284-foot spire of Trinity Church, the dominate landmark in the city’s skyline. The New York World Building was then featured on the cover of the World Almanac for the next forty years from 1890 to 1934.
The New York World Building record at twenty stories was toppled four years later by the Manhattan Life Insurance Building that became the first building at eighteen stories to exceed the 330 feet (100 m) standing at 348 feet (106 m) in Manhattan. This unique building structure was built right across the street from the Trinity Church (1846, whose spire rose to 85 m) and boasted two sides and topped out with an iron bridge highlighted by a towering lantern located at 348 feet in height.

Was it any wonder that Ellen White, sensing the national mood of America with its increasing lust for power, greed and control and the rapid decline in the spiritual mood of the nation’s largest city as it reflected in her mind at the time. This was to her the “time of the end” and with the increasing concern for the spiritual welfare of the nation as she wrote;
Ellen White – “I am instructed that when the L-rd’s time comes, should no change have taken place in the hearts of proud ambitious human beings, men will find that the hand that had been strong to save will be strong to destroy. No earthly power can stay the hand of G-d.”
Yet, her mood was shaken for here for within this vision of the future she was shown something that was unimaginable. A new era of “idols” would sway the American mind of its invincibility in the world. Here were two icons that towered over New York that shouted to the whole world of the unimaginable economic power that the United States held sway over the world and the Middle East in her quest for oil that powered the engines of the American economy.
On the year before White’s dream, the quest for the tallest building in the world would be captured by the Singer Manufacturing Co. Known as the Singer Building, it would dominate the New York skyline at 612 feet (187 m) until the 700 foot (210 m) Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower was built in Manhattan in 2009 and now recognized as the “Tallest Office Building in the World”.
Skyscraper construction as a status symbol began to wane in the early years of the 20th century. It would be the Empire State Building that would become the new status symbol of the United States when it was constructed at 102 stories in the year of 1931, during the height of the Great Depression.
Now known as the North Building, the Met Life Building was first designed to be a 100-story skyscraper and destined to become the tallest building in the world. Due to the 1929 Stock Market Crash and the Great Depression, the construction of the tower was halted at the 29th floor in the year of 1933.
The world was crashing in the Great Depression, and America was affected the most, because the soul of America was still clinging to the G-d of Israel. The excesses of power, greed and control had to be dampened and set back for another eighty years. The “angel” of the future Imperial Power of the United States was held back by the G-d of Israel until a future date when the G-d of the Universe would cast down upon America His Divine wrath and retributive judgment.
