Jews flee West Bank after Jordan annexed the region in 1948.
Israel liberated the region in 1967 after being attacked by Jordan.
A Tribute to the Jewish Resistant Volunteers in the Arab-Israel War of 1948
Arnold Harris – “May the memory of the 1948 volunteers indeed be blessed; for those who laid down their lives for the Jewish nation; for those who lived through the armed struggle for independence; those 700,000 of m’apalim (“stormers of obstacles”) who got onto the boats and sailed to the new State of Israel and doubled its population inside three years. To those of you who are still around, know that you were and are the greatest generation of the Jewish nation.
And the same to the memory of David Ben-Gurion. Socialist though he was, he has my respect. I remember reading some of his comments some years later. The evening before his interim government declared the State of Israel, he walked the streets of Tel Aviv, sensing the mood of the people. “Aleh yamdu”, he said to himself. “These will stand”.
So they did, and because of that, there is a Jewish state now with a Jewish population ten times size of that night in May 1948, when Ben-Gurion, the lion of Israel, walked the streets of Tel Aviv. and gauged the steadfastness of his people. Our people!”

Here is the living drama of the Jewish people as they came together in a national identity for the first time in almost 2000 years. The facts of bravery, valor, and resourcefulness will always be remembered and recorded the Books of Life in the Heavenly Court.
To read an insightful article on the story of the infant State of Israel in those first few years, and the lack of geo-political and material assistance Israel received from Europe and America is heartbreaking. Strange as it may seem, the only country that came forthright to the assistance of Israel was the small nation of Czechoslovakia, who had earlier been sold out by the British Prime Minister Chamberlain to Hitler’s Nazi Germany in 1938.
The British Mandate dedicated for a Jewish National Homeland, “Palestine or Eretz Israel”
As Destination Yisrael wrote:
Destination Yisra’el – “Stranger facts could not be described for in 1938, as described in detail in the BibleSearchers Reflection article titled, “The Czech Sudetenland in 1938; a Model for the Palestinian Homeland in the Annapolis Accord in 2008”, America, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations, so called “The Quartet” have also abandoned the most prosperous and most democratic country in the Middle East, when they pandered to the Hashemite rulers of Jordan and Saudi Arabia. They effectively sold the Jewish people’s homeland for a “Pot of Oil” just like Esau sold his own birthright for a “Pot of Porridge”
Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain of Great Britain abandoned the most prosperous and most democratic country in central Europe, along with the leaders of France and Italy, when they conceded that the three million ethnic Germans should have access to semi-independence while living in central Czechoslovakia.
Would it not be strange to find evidence of Divine intent when seventy years later (1938-2008), this same globalist strategy would be resurrected again this time seeking Israel’s demise? It was President George W. Bush, who presided over the Annapolis Conference of 2008, and brought to the global community the intent of creating by international support a Palestinian State? It is also interesting that in 1938 that there were three million ethnic Germans living in Sudetenland in central Czechoslovakia.
Seventy years later in 2008, the Palestinian population was polled by Palestinian pollsters. They found that in the West Bank and the disputed regions of East Jerusalem, there resided a population of 2.35 million Palestinians. Add to that number of the Palestinian population of 1.42 million in Gaza, we now have a total of 3.76 million Palestinian capable of fighting the Israeli Jewish people if they united into one Palestinian State. History has a sobering realism.”
Yet, a truer and more forceful reality can be read in the article titled, “Who did what for Israel in 1948? America did nothing!” by Norman Berdichevsky.
Norman Berdichevsky – “Having just taught a course on the Cultural Geography of the Middle East at a community college in Florida for "seniors" (over 55 years of age), I again encountered a unanimous belief among my students in what I would call the Most Widely Believed Myth of the political and military conflict between Israel and the Arabs. This universal belief, never challenged by the media, is that the United States was wholly or largely responsible for fully supporting Israel on the ground from the very beginning of its independence in May, 1948.
The world has been inundated with a tsunami of Arab propaganda and crocodile tears shed for the "Palestinians" who have reveled in what they refer to as their Catastrophe or Holocaust (Nabka in Arabic). Their plight has been accompanied by unremitting criticism that the United States was the principal architect that stood behind Israel from the very beginning with money, manpower and arms.
The fact is that President Truman eventually decided against the pro-Arab "professional opinion" of his Secretary of State, General George Marshall and the Arabists of the State Department. He accorded diplomatic recognition to the new Jewish state but never considered active military aid. His own memoirs recall how he felt betrayed by State Department officials and the American U.N. Ambassador, Warren Austin who pulled the rug out from under him one day after he promised Zionist leader Chaim Weitzman support for partition.
American Jewish voting in the 1948 Presidential election leaned heavily for President Truman but also cast a substantial number of votes for third party "Progressive" leader Henry Wallace who had spoken out even more strongly on behalf of American support for the Zionist position and aid to Israel. It was actually not until the administration of President John Kennedy in the early 1960s that American arms shipments were made to Israel.”

The prophecies are clear that the G-d of Israel will redeem the “Mountains of Israel” where Shomron and Judea presently are located. He will then redeem and restore the Lost Ten Tribes of the House of Israel, take them from the land of their dwelling and restore them to the Land of their Forefathers, to reclaim their Divine Heritage (Ezekiel 36). This is not a conditional prophesy. Rather, it is a prophecy for both the Jews and the Lost Israelites, when we will be restored back into brotherhood; the Jews of the House of Judah and Lost Israelites of the House of Israel (Ezekiel 37).
This Biblical portrayal includes Prophecies that the Lost Tribes of the House of Israel are about to return to the Land of their Biblical Inheritance. This is Divine Destiny in living reality as the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel return to their Homelands first in Shomron (Samaria), Israel. If you want to learn more, Contact “Kol Ha Tor Vision”, the Voice of the Turtledove.
Here is a joint Orthodox Jewish and 10-Triber Mission to bring awareness of the imminent fulfillment of the Biblical Prophecies regarding the Redemption of all Israel (12 Tribes Re-conciled and Re-United). This super Event of all Times will entail Establishing the Shomron (the Ancient Bible Heartland of the Patriarchs) and the Judean Wilderness as part of the Land of Israel, and preparing the “Land” for the Return of the Lost Tribes of the House of Israel and then the Redemption of All Israel.
