The Porat Yosef Yeshiva ahead and behind the Trees at the Funeral of Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira
Destination Yisra’el – “The Shmittah period (seven years) in which Ben Dovid (Messiah son of David) will come the following verse will be fulfilled:
Sanhedrin 97a – “Rebi Yochanan ben Zaccai of Yavnah said: In the generation that Ben Dovid (Messiah son of David) will come, talmidei chachamim, the “pupil of wisdom” known as the Torah sage or scholar, will decrease, and the eyes of the remainder will protrude from sighing and sorrow; many chastisements and many evil decrees will be renewed; one will not cease before another begins…”
Year Three of the Messianic Sabbatical Cycle (2011) –
“In the third year”, Rosh Hashanah 5771 (Thursday, September 9, 2010) to Rosh Hashanah 5772 (Thursday, September 29, 2011),
“The famine will be great, and men, women, children, pious people, and men of good deeds will die; Torah will be forgotten by those who learned it.”
Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira, seventy year old rabbi of great fame in Israel, was stabbed in his yeshiva by a distraught worshipper on August 5, 2011 in the Jewish city of Be’er Sheba. Known as the revered “Baba Elazar” to his devotees and disciples, tens of thousands Jews lined the streets of Jerusalem on Friday the 6th of August. The funeral procession began in Be’er Sheba and proceeded to the Porat Yosef Yeshiva on Malchei Yisrael Street in Jerusalem before the rabbi was buried on the Mount of Olives (Har Hazeitim) next to his father, Rabbi Baba Sali.
His father, Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira, known as Rabbi Baba Sali (scroll down from Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Schneerson to “Baba Sali”) was universally revered when as a Jewish Moroccan rabbi he was responsible in transporting most of the Jews in Morocco to safely in times of war to the Land of Israel.
In the BibleSearchers link above read the story about Rabbi Baba Sali and his powers over the spirit world to redeem the haunted Ari Sefardi Synagogue in Safed, is a story that will follow his legacy forever. Many others also believed that Baba Sali also had the mystical powers of healing.
Baba Sali lived a Spartan life as he devoted his life to fasting and praying while living in the Israeli town of Netivot. In the year of 1984, “Baba Sali” died and over 100,000 Jewish people attended his funeral. Later his tomb became a shrine for pilgrimages of the Jewish faithful seeking solace, guidance and intervention in their troubled lives. Also here is where many Observant Jews today bring their three-year-old sons for the traditional “chalaka”, their first hair-cutting.

Rabbi Baruch Abuhatzeira “Baba Baruch” speaking as his Brother’s Funeral
As the Jewish people were preparing for the Day of Mourning, Tishs B’AV three days in advance, the Orthodox world were mourning their own beloved rabbi. Rabbi Baba Elazar’s brother, Rabbi Baruch Abuhatzeira known as “Baba Baruch”, spoke at the funeral on the atonement that the Great Ones of Israel do for the people of Israel. Through their Prayers the Decrees of Harsh Punishment may be nullified by G-d:
Rabbi Baruch Abuhatzeira – “Harsh punishments were decreed on the people of Israel, and he wanted to nullify them. He nullified many harsh decrees for us...We ask you, Rabbi Elazar: go before the Throne of Glory and pray there for the people of Israel. Pray for the entire family. Pray for your sons, your daughters, your grandchildren and wife. There is much to say, but the mind is confused.”
Rabbi Shlomo Amar, the Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Israel
The Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel added a further illumination on the “decrees” that the Jewish people were under;
Rabbi Shlomo Amar, the Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Israel – “Who knows what kind of decree G-d's people was under? And [Rabbi Abuhatzeira] was strong for us, and he bore the atonement for our generation. Alongside the great sorrow and terrible shock, we must arouse our hearts to return to G-d with all of our hearts, and search our deeds, both those between man and G-d and between man and his fellow man.
Bloodshed in particular has grown more common among our people in recent years, and has become a routine thing. We hear about it and return to our routines. We must wake up regarding the education we give the children of Israel. We must teach them to be of good character and treat their fellow man properly. Each individual should make a true effort to rid himself of hate or jealousy, and to increase in love and unity, to avoid anger and strictness, and to be pleasant and forgiving and good, with G-d and man.”
The Throngs by the Tens of Thousands paying their Respect to a Torah Sage, “Baba Elazar”
To all the Lost Tribes of the House of Israel, read and watch carefully the reverence the Sages of Judah receive from the Observant Jews living in Israel. They are the Masters of Torah, the renowned ones who have given up fame and fortune, to live their lives in stark simplicity. They use their vast powers of memory to continue to restudying the wisdom of the Torah and reframing it into a living relationship with the present world in which we live. Such were the Torah Sages of the Family of the Abuhatzeira Dynasty of Rabbinic scholars. Tuma 50th decrees for contamination,
Not only were they good scholars, and men of great wisdom, but their lives were continuously open for their own people, to aid and assist them in every aspect of their lives. And such, they were not only religious mentors, but counselors and constantly developing the powers of their people to reach up and know the G-d from on High.
As Lost Tribers, we have carried with our ancestral families, the legacy of rebellion against the G-d of Israel. Yet, even after a hundred generations, there is a necessity to understand our genetic history, and know our propensity to “do it our own way”. Unfortunately, this is not the way of Torah. We should love the L-rd thy G-d, with all thy heart, and all thy soul, and with all thy might. It is a life of giving up to G-d, and as our guela (redemption) is coming closer and closer, we will become more intimate with the G-d of our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Yes, we are “Israel”, the namesake legacy of our father, Jacob, yes Israel. Yet, we still need to learn to respect guardians of the Torah, and those who have preserved the legacy of the TaNaKh for the last 3000 years.
As one Jewish student speaking on the “bad news” of the death of this “giant’ in rabbinic history, he commented these words:
Baruch Dayan Haemet (Blessed is the True Judge) - “It was by this holy Rabbi that I received a “Bracha” (Blessing meant to acknowledge G-d). I’ve heard that the Tuma reached the 50th level (Lowest level of degeneration and degradation in a person’s or society’s life that shows that that person or social culture is beyond redemption). Now it means that the Kedusha (holiness or sanctity) has the same potential and even more so.
Tens of Thousands walking to the Funeral of Rabbi “Baba Elazer” in Jerusalem
Let us do something crazy on the Kedusha, or holiness or sanctity side of life. If you have been only learning Torah for only one hour, now you have the potential to change your normal routine and do something “crazy in the holiness side (Kedusha) by spending more time in learning the Torah than you use to before.
If you usually don’t finish your ChiTaS (Hebrew acronym for the Chumash, the first five books of Moses, the Tehillim (Psalms) and the Tanya, a seminal text by the Hasidic (Chabad Jewish traditions) by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi), now you can and will still have time for mivtzoim, or endeavours to practice the ‘613 commands’ of G-d including doing good deeds. Now we will have this strength!”
This is the Jewish way in Judaism on how to take sorrow and bring redemption – take degradation and bring righteousness!

If you have wondered how biblical prophecy fits into your life, and how it will affect the Return of the House of Israel, then the G-d of Israel is beginning his “call” to bring you home, too. You might desire to reconnect with the Biblical portrayals on what is and may be happening in your near future.
This Biblical portrayal includes Prophecies that the Lost Tribes of the House of Israel are about to return to the Land of their Biblical Inheritance. This is Divine Destiny in living reality as the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel return to their Homelands first in Shomron (Samaria), Israel.
