The First Pesach heralding the Cry, “Get out of Egypt
One year ago, during Passover season 2010, it was reported on Destination Yisra’el that the Temple Institute filed suit to offer the Pesach sacrifice of the Korban Lamb upon the Temple Mount. Throughout all the past year we have watched HaShem, the G-d of Israel stirring the nations with uprisings as they were seeking to define their future fate. We are now in the third year of this Sabbatical Week of Years. Step by step, the G-d of Israel is channeling the vortex of the mighty prophetic river to its ultimate fulfillment.
Soon the manifestation of the full revelation of the Messiah son of David returning to dwell with His people on the Festival of Tabernacles will become apparent to everyone who chooses to accept the G-d of Israel as their G-d. As Destination Yisra’el wrote:
Destination Yisra’el – “The prophetic voice of the “word of the L-rd is rising in an exponential crescendo and to many Christians who believe that their church is the “end time church” are shocked by the revelation that the Jews and the Lost Tribes of Israel have risen as the prime actors in the final prophetic “Drama of the Ages”.
What a year 2010 is beginning to be! The Hurva Synagogue was dedicated on Monday, March 15, 2010 with the purported prophesy by the Vilna Gaon that when this synagogue that was destroyed for the second time, when it was blown up by the Jordanian Legionnaires in 1948, and now rebuilt for the third time, at that time construction for the Temple in Jerusalem would begin.
Associated with this dedication of the Hurva Synagogue, a new Arab Intifada began with riots on the Temple Mount in response to the expectation that Jews will take over the Temple Mount in order to start the building of the Jewish Temple. Then President Obama’s White House and the American State Department began an intensive onslaught to break down the sovereignty of the State of Israel by forcing the division of the Capital of Jerusalem for the Palestinians to have a Palestinian State capital in Eastern Jerusalem.
Within days the Temple Institute filed suit to offer the Pesach sacrifice of the Korban Lamb upon the Temple Mount. When the finger of HaShem, the G-d of Israel starts stirring the pot, the prophetic streams begin to rapidly flow into the vortex of the mighty river flowing
through the end of days and the rise of Greater Israel. Here is the beginning of the end of days as the Messiah begins its transformation of this earth into a Messianic kingdom.”
Safed’s Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Kobi Nahshoni: Effie Shrir
On April 5, 2011, it was published in the YNet News that a new call was going out in Israel that Safed’s Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Kobi Nahshoni called upon the Israeli public to begin the first sacrifice mitzvah in two thousand years on the eve of the Jewish holiday, called Passover (Pesach), April 19, 2011. While engaged with his students during their lessons on Halakhah in Jerusalem during the last week of March, their Rav warned the Jewish people that continuing to evade the mitzvah of eating the Pesach lamb with also the performing of the sacrifice mitzvah of the Jewish holiday was putting them at risk of “kareth” a supernatural punishment for disobeying a Jewish Law. Seeking to increase the motivation to offer a Passover Pesach sacrifice, Rabbi Eliyahu stated that it was one of two “active mitzvot”, that along with circumcision, a Jews risks causing “great damage to themselves and to the entire world”.
As he implied, there was a halakhic, a legal, and a public responsibility in these modern days to offer the Pesach sacrifice while quoting from one of the Jewish people’s senior rabbinical authorities, when Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kalisher, one of the founders of the modern religious Zionism petitioned the Turkish Sultan to allow a certain area upon the Temple Mount for the erection of an altar for the sacrifice of the Pesach sacrificial lamb.
So today, the Passover Lamb could be slaughtered upon a temporary altar in the plaza in front of the Dome of the Rock. In spite of the fact that the Temple of G-d does not exist, and even though the people in Israel are in a status of impurity when they contact a dead body, called “tameh met”, a temporary altar would have to be erected and the Kohanim, the priests of Israel who already have been selected and dedicated, would, while wearing their “priestly garments” conduct the proper ceremony. As he stated;
Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu - "It's perfectly clear that if the public pressures its representatives in the government or in the Knesset, everything will change. If the judges have ruled that the police must secure simpler protests, why not the Passover sacrifice?"
New Moon Rising over Jerusalem
He explained that a year ago, that the petitions that were filed with the Israeli High Court of Justice against the sacrifice were accepted by the court only because the Jerusalem police were not prepared to secure the safety of the ceremony. According to legal aspects of the law, “every person has the right to perform the commandment of his religion according to his own understanding, so it was not impossible to resume the Passover mitzvah publically.
He even addressed the international diplomatic crisis that potentially may arise and the internal opposition of secular Jews within their society when he made these comments;
Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu - "We are being threatened that any movement on our part on the Temple Mount will launch the third world war… (But) we can free our souls of the horror of the gentiles, just like we freed ourselves before the Exodus… Some fear the public echo of the Passover sacrifice – how will the seculars view it? What will the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals say? The truth is that this should not even be discussed… We have already been scorned for the circumcision mitzvah (commandment), persecuted and condemned to death for that. Today the UN's health organization recommends that all men undergo circumcision in order to avoid illnesses."
As his study continues, the Rabbi predicted that many would mock the sacrifice of the Pesach mitzvah, yet according to the Passover Haggadah, such a person is called the “wicked son”, who when he cleans his hands makes this remark, “This doesn’t belong to me, this blood and primitiveness. I am an enlightened person. I respect animals. I don't slaughter them barbarically."
Have faith said the rabbi, for such secularized Jewish people, according to the examples of historical traditions, who once in the past opposed observing biblical mitzvahs, will return, change their minds, and join in support of enacting again the sacrifices of the Temple traditional mitzvahs.
Rabbi Eliyahu reminded them that his father, Rabbi Mordechai Tzemach Eliyahu, the spiritual leader and Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel from 1983-1993 who recently died on June 7, 2010, stated that the custom of sacrificing the Korban lamb should not be lip service for performing the demands and the preparation of performing the Passover sacrifice will allow us to relearn the mitzvah laws even in our modern era;
Former Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu – “These things should make us break the spiritual barrier preventing us from thinking about offering the Passover sacrifice…Although we are not used to it, and havegotten used to living without a temple, we must change our ways.”
