Historical Desert-like Conditions in the Land of Israel
Sanhedrin 97a – “Rebi Yochanan ben Zaccai of Yavnah said: In the generation that Ben Dovid (Messiah son of David) will come, talmidei chachamim, the “pupil of wisdom” known as the Torah sage or scholar, will decrease, and the eyes of the remainder will protrude from sighing and sorrow; many chastisements and many evil decrees will be renewed; one will not cease before another begins.”
We have seen paintings of the mid-19th century painters, especially the Scottish Painter David Roberts, showing the dryness and desolation of the Land of Israel. We have also reported on BibleSearchers the Rabbinic prophecy in the Talmudic section of the Sanhedrin that reports that a severe drought of biblical proportions will once again reoccur, like it did in the years of the patriarchs that made the Patriarch Jacob and his family of 70 escape to the land of Egypt.
This coming drought will not only be a literal drought but a spiritual drought as the Jews in the land of Israel will sink to the lowest level of spirituality since their rebirth as a nation.
The present Septet or the last Sabbatical week of years may be now upon us. It began at Rosh Hashanah 2008, and may indicate that it is now upon us as we read these words.
Sanhedrin 97a – “In the third year (2010-11), a great famine from which men, women, and children, pious and deed-doing people will die, and Torah will be forgotten by those who learned her.
The Sea of Galilee, as called Genezareth, as it Looks towards Basham in Syria and Jordan – Painting by the Scottish Painter David Robert on April 21, 1839, publ. 1842.
And now we begin to see confirmation in this last year before the much heralded 2012 and the Mayan End of the World Age, plus the peak of the next Cycle 24 of the eleven and twenty two year peaks of the Solar Flare cycles that is anticipated to be the worse in recorded history, will now be upon us. With this in mind, on January 3, 2010, Israel Today reported from the land of Israel, that the past 12 months were the hottest and the driest in recorded weather history over the last eighty years.
Israel Today – “The previous twelve months were the hottest and overall driest year Israel has experienced since weather records started being kept. The Israel Meteorological Service has published year-end data showing that temperatures across Israel in 2010 were some 2-3 degrees hotter than the average temperatures recorded over the past 30 years. For instance, from 1981-2000, the average annual temperature in Jerusalem was 63.5 degrees Fahrenheit (17.5 Celsius). During 2010, that average temperature rose to 68.5 F (20.3 C). IMS officials noted that is a severe increase."
In this same Sanhedrin prophecy, in the prior year, Rosh Hashanah 2009-2010, the nation of Israel would begin to feel the pains of a severe famine.
Sanhedrin 97a – “In the second year (2009-10), slight famine will be sent.
In also the longest dry spell since the return of the Jews and the birth of their nation, the Sea of Galilee has now sunk almost to the black line, where all the water pumps that bring water out will no longer be functional. It is also reported are that the subterranean water reservoirs in Israel are now dangerously depleted.
Israel Today – “2010 was also one of the driest years Israel has experienced in over 80 years. There have been years with less overall rain than 2010, however the past year saw the fewest days with rainfall. Coupled with the rising temperatures, the enormous number of dry days meant an increase in evaporation, which together with greater public water needs has resulted in Israel’s worst drought since its rebirth as a nation-state. Israel’s cabinet is soon scheduled to debate an emergency water plan for the coming year.”
Two or three years ago, Israel started an emergency program of water desalination to help supply the water needs of the Nation of Israel. This may be too little too late, as is around the world, as the greatest wars of future will be over who has the rights to the water resources. Israel only appears to be a harbinger of the future. Is this not how the G-d of Israel predicted by the prophets of Israel how the time of the end would be? It appears that even the Pentagon is listening as noted in the secret 2004 Pentagon Report:
2004 Pentagon Report – “Climate change over the next 20 years (2004-2024) could result in a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters. A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a 'Siberian' climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world."
The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planet to the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defend and secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat to global stability vastly eclipses that of terrorism, says the few experts privy to its contents. 'Disruption and conflict will be endemic features of life,' concludes the Pentagon analysis. 'Once again, warfare would define human life."
Has the Pentagon become prophetic seers, or is someone there reading ancient prophets of Israel and connecting the dots?
