The War on Terror –World Response to 9/11
It was a little over nine years ago, on September 24, 2001, the words of esteemed and very popular but aging Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri, were broadcast over Israeli TV News. The famous and feared Gog-Magog War was soon to begin. Thirteen days after the 9/11 destruction of the World Trade Center and the attack on the Pentagon in Washington D.C., Yehoshua Meiri, a close confidant of the court of the aging rabbi, believed to be over 108 years of age, spoke the following words for Rabbi Kadur;
Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri – “On Hashanah Rabbah (2001 or Jewish year 5762), the actual war of Gog and Magog will commence and will last for some seven years (Rosh Hashanah 2008 or the Jewish year 5769).”
Thirteen days later on October 7, 2001, the celebrations of the Jewish holiday Hoshana Rabbah, the 7th day of Sukkot, began. Precise to the minute as the sun was setting in the western horizon, on the eve the festival day began, the US and British forces began an aerial bombing campaign against the Taliban and the Al-Qaeda forces in Afghanistan and the War against Terror was begun. Seven years later, did the Gog Magog War against Terror end?
The Jewish people have just celebrated the last days of the Festival of Sukkot 5771 in September 2010, we remind ourselves that the last two days were days of significant meaning to our Hebrew-Judaic forefathers; Hoshana Rabbah, the 7th day of Sukkot and Simchat Torah, the 8th day of Sukkot. On the seventh day of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, the 21st day of Tishrei, Hoshana Rabbah is called the “Great Hoshana” or “The Great Day of Supplication”.
On this day during a special synagogue service, the worshippers make seven circuits around the ark protecting the Torah scrolls with their lulavs and etrogs as the congregation is reciting the Hoshanot. During this time, the scrolls of the Torah are removed from their protective arks. In many congregations in Europe and American, with the sound of the great shofar the congregation makes each circuit around the ark; seven times.
According to the Zohar, the judgment of the Divine is sealed for the New Year on Yom Kippur. Yet this sealed judgment is not “delivered” until the seventh day of Sukkot. Until this day, each individual verdict and decree for the New Year can still be altered. With the salutation spoken in Yiddish, “A guten kvitel” or “A good note” they proclaim the hope that the verdict of the Almighty is positive, as they officially end the new years.
Whenever we consider Jewish prophetic interpretation of history, we must also consider the Seven Years called the “Sabbatical Week of Years” of the Jewish calendar cycles. We remind ourselves that the first Shmita (Shemittah’z) or “Seventh year”, that occurred after the Jewish State of Israel officially became a nation on Israel’s independence Day on May 15, 1948, was the Jewish year beginning on Rosh Hashanah 1951 (Jewish year in 1951-1952 or 5712 in the Hebrew calendar). This was approved by the Council of Rabbis, as reported in the Institute for Global Jewish Affairs, using the calculation approved by the rabbis since the days of the compilation of the Sabbatical Years in the Jewish Mishnah.
As such, the subsequent “7th year” of the “Sabbatical Week of Years” is called the “Shmita” or “Sabbath Year” in the Jewish calendar. This 7th Year, since the beginning of the Jewish State of Israel, are calculated to be the years of; 1951 [1951-1952 or Jewish Year 5752)], 1958 (1958-1959), 1965 (1965-1966), 1972 (1972-1973), 1979 (1979-1980), 1986 (1986-1987), 1993 (1993-1994), 2000 (2000-2001), and 2007 (2007-2008).
The 50th year of the land, also known as a Shabbat of the land, was called the “Yovel” in Hebrew. It became the origin of the 50th year in Latin called the, “Jubilee Year”. Today the Jubilee Year is not observed by the Orthodox Jews because the G-d of Israel has not revealed to the Sanhedrin or the Gedolim, the “Great Ones” of the Rabbanim which cycle for this day should be.
It is of interest that the first 50th year, keeping the dates in sequence with the ancient Sabbatical Week of Years and Jubilee Year Cycle since the Jews have had their own nation was the year beginning with Rosh Hashanah 2000 (Jewish year of 5761) or the 8th year after the end of the Sabbatical Week of Years 1993-2000. The beginning of the 7th Millennium and the 1st Jubilee of the Jewish people since returning to the Land of Israel simultaneously merged in earth’s history.
Concerning the “Land of Israel”, and especially the year of shmita (the 7th Shabbat year), the last year of the Sabbatical Seven Year cycle, we begin to notice that a literal calendar cycle of the Hebrews was beginning to merge now with the final prophetic cycle of this world age, or the conclusion of the “Time of the End”.
According to the ancient Jewish traditions, after the “7th Year or the Shabbat Year” is completed, then during the 8th year, if the “appointed time” had come, the Messiah will be fully revealed. It was expected that the Messiah would be fully revealed when He came to save His chosen ones after Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, when He came to battle the 70 nations against Israel on the 7th day of Sukkot called Hashanah Rabbah.
If the Messiah has not revealed Himself during or just after the 8th year during the “Rosh Hashanah – Hashanah Rabbah festival season” then the next Seven Years Sabbatical Week of Year Cycle would continue for another complete seven years. The question we must ask, “Did this Gog-Magog War Cycle (7th day Succot 2001 to Rosh Hashanah 2008) herald the last Seven Year cycle before the coming of the Jewish Messiah?
The answer is No! The Messiah did not arrive in the year of 2008-2009, therefore another seven year cycle has now begun. What is more interesting is that Rabbi Kaduri’s prediction concerning the date of the Gog –Magog War did not occur during the traditional seven year Sabbatical Week of Years Cycle but actually began on the 8th year of one Sabbatical Cycle and continued for seven years to the next 8th year of the next cycle. We call it the Messiah Cycle.
On this last seven year “Messiah War Cycle”, Rosh Hashanah started on September, 2001, (Jewish Year 6762), so the seventh year (2007-2008) of this sabbatical week of seven years called “shemittah”z year came on September, 2007, or the Jewish year of 5768. If Rabbi Kaduri was correct in his calculations concerning the time of the end by his interpretations of the writings of the Vilna Gaon, then the Gog Magog War was completed at Rosh Hashanah in the year of 2008.
So we ask the question? Did the Gog Magog War end on Rosh Hashanah, 2008? Was it World War III, or did some other overwhelming event occur on Planet Earth on Rosh Hashanah 2008 that affected the whole world as much like World War III?
When people think of war, we envision military conflicts with jets bombing, shooting missiles, tanks, nuclear weapons and bloody bodies lying on battlefields or in cities. Yet, at the time of the end, a different type of war may be revealed by the G-d of Israel.
The purpose of war, according to man’s intent on military conquest is to destroy one’s opponent so that your “national interest” will prevail, and they will become subservient to your way of living and supportive of your type of world order. During the 911 incident, which “Al Qaeda” and Saudi Islamics have universally been of accused of engineering an “act of war” against the Great Satan of the United States, we ask, “Why was such a crime committed? What was the “national interest of Al Qaeda” or the rationale of the Saudis to commit such an evil act?
The prevailing opinion has been that the acts of violence and destruction against the Twin Towers of New York and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. were aimed at the two main symbols of Western and American hegemony or power over the world’s populations. The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center represented the total economic control of America and Europe over the rest of the world. The Pentagon represented the immense unparalleled aerial and military might of the United States around the world.
The purpose of these two attacks was to destroy America and Europe’s political, economic and military power over the world. It was the goal of Al-Qaeda to begin the chain of events to put the United States and Europe into a cycle of war that would spiral out of control and consume all of the resources of their economies. It appears the War Cycle of the G-d of Israel did come and leave its imprint on the minds of all mankind.
Over the past century, the Rabbis of Judah have proclaimed that the Gog-Magog War would come in three cycles. The First War of GoguMogog was World War I, and the Second War of GoguMogog was World War II. The first Jubilee of the restored Nation of Israel ended on the New Years of the 6,000th millennium as the Messianic War Cycle began when the War on Terror as the beginning of the final Gog-Magog War began on the 7th day of Sukkot, on Hoshana Rabbah 2001.
World War III officially began, yet a spiritual veil clouded our eyes. Before it was over all, the seventy nations of the world, who for one purpose or another seek to destroy the State of Israel will be standing before the judgment seat of the G-d of Israel. Only then will the Lost Tribes of the House of Israel return home.
