Observers were stunned in disbelief as a Great Gray Whale was discovered cruising along the Mediterranean coastline near Herzliya, Israel on May 8, 2010, ten days before the celebration of Pentecost (Shavuot) on the Jewish Year 5770 between sunset Tuesday evening, May 18, 2010 to nightfall on Thursday, May 20, 2010.
Almost four centuries ago about the time of the American Revolution, Gray Whales were known to breed and roam along the Northern Atlantic Ocean yet they disappeared and became extinct in the Atlantic for reasons not known. It is believed that they traversed predominately down the American Eastern Coast from South Hampton, New Hampshire to Jupiter Island, north of Miami, Florida.
Israeli Marine Mammal Biologist, Dr. Aviad Scheinin, chairperson of the Israel Marine Mammal Research and Assistance Center who was the first to scientifically identify this magnificent mammal, stated in rapture disbelief;
Dr. Aviad Scheinin – “It is an unbelievable event which has been described as one of the most important whale sightings ever. What has amazed the entire marine mammal research community is there haven't been any gray whales in the Atlantic since the 18th century.
The creature, a mature whale measuring some 12 metres (39 feet) and weighing around 20 tonnes, probably reached the Atlantic through the Northwest Passage, an Arctic sea route that connects the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and is normally covered with ice. Here you have an animal that is supposed to live in the Pacific and because the ice in the Arctic is melting, it managed to get through this corridor near the Bering Strait."
Today, there are two known distinct Gray Whale populations that exist in the Pacific Ocean. The first includes about 160 Asian Gray Whales that are presumed to travel in the waters around South Korea including the Okhotsk Sea located west of the Kamchatka Peninsula. A larger cluster of Pacific Gray Whales lives along the Northeastern Pacific that includes about 20,000 - 22,000 American Gray Whales as they feed along the shoreline between Alaska, Vancouver, Canada and down the Pacific Northwest south to Baja, California.
The adult females grow to mature length about 45 feet (14 meters) and can weigh up to 40 tons of weight. They have two distinct blowholes on the top of their head creating a unique V-shaped blow at the surface of the ocean. Lacking that distinct dorsal fin, the prominent tail is almost 12 feet (3.7 meters) that has a distinct notch at its center.
The whale will travel about 75 miles (120 kilometers) per day with speeds up to 5 miles per hour (8 kilometers/ hour) yet the scientists at the Israel’s Marine Mammal Research and Assistance Centre (IMMRAC) are truly clueless except for professional speculations how this whale arrived here. They are well known to be record migrating mammals as they travel between 5,000 to 7,000 miles (8,000 to 11,000 kilometers) one way from their feeding ground in the north from Seattle to Glacier Bay in Alaska to their breeding ground along the San Diego-Baja California coastline.
The population of Gray Whales, which lives in the northeastern Pacific in North America, normally migrates southwards around October. They leave the Pacific Northwest of the Americas, and head for warmer waters around the Gulf of California situated in an inland sea called the Sea of Cortés or Vermilion Sea between the Baja California Peninsula and the coastline of Western Mexico. It is an extensive round trip of at least 5,000 miles (8,000 kilometres).
This magnificent whale, somehow traveled instead across the Bering Strait, over the thawing Northwest Passage across Northern Canada and then down around Greenland, Iceland until he reached the Northern Atlantic Ocean near Northern Europe.
When autumn 2009 came, this particular gray whale that had just traversed the Northwest Passage began travelling south like it’s G-d given native instincts. He kept the land mass of Europe on his left, like he once did along California. As he reached, what he thought was the Gulf of California, with the aim of "turning left" into the Gulf of California, he instead traversed through the Strait of Gibraltar and entered the Mediterranean Sea. As we now know, his journey ended up along the shores of Israel. As Dr. Scheinin remarked:
Dr. Aviad Scheinin – "The question now is: are we going to see the re-colonisation of the Atlantic? This is very important ecologically because of the change of habitat. It emphases the climate change that we are going through.
So far, the whale seems to be happy enough in the waters off the shores of Israel. It is pretty thin, which indicates the trip was quite harsh, but we think it can survive here. Gray whales are very generalist in what they feed on.
Now experts are mulling the possibility of tracking the whale by satellite -- a costly operation that would need outside funding and expertise. It's quite a big operation to do this. If it stays around here for the next month, it's worth having someone come in and do this professionally. It will be interesting to see where it goes and to follow it."
As the Gray Whale arrived in Israel (aliyah) just prior to Pentecost, we also seek spiritual insight to this unusual literal event. With the global climate change, and the potential for a pole shift from Canada to Siberia, the Lost Tribes of the House of Israel living in Northern Europe may suddenly find their homelands soon thrust up into the Arctic Circle encased in ice possibly as early as 2012. At this time, with world prophetic catastrophes cascading around them, the citizens of Northern Europe may be fleeing south as refugees.
Will the G-d of Israel give the House of Israel a thorough cleansing with the purification waters of the mikveh or possibly with now the “ashes of the red heifer?” Will these Lost Tribers of Northern Europe suddenly discover their new reality as they are given a “New Heart” and come to the realization that they truly are the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel?
Will they rediscover, that Jesus the Christ that they have learned to believe, actually was a Jewish rabbi and the Prince of David Yahshua HaNotzri (Jesus the Nazarene). It was He, who stated that His sole mission was to “find the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel.”

Will the fleeing and displaced Northern Europeans suddenly discover that, in the midst of great pole shift catastrophe, their ancestral homelands that were once in Lebanon, Northern and in the Central Shomron (Samaria) region of Israel, and in Gilead and Basham today located in the regions of the modern Nations of Syria and Jordan, have now shifted and have moved north in the same latitude of Central Europe? With their current homes now encased in ice in the latitudes within the Arctic Circle, will they discover that their ancestral homelands, now in the same latitudes of Central Gaul or Europe, are welcoming the Lost Tribes of Israel home, this time to Greater Israel.
Their ancient homelands have now literally and physically replaced those Roman Christian nations of Southern Europe that had for centuries tried to destroy the Jews and replace the “chosenness” of the Jewish people and seek to make themselves “Spiritual Israelites”. The mountains of Israel will once again be flowing with milk and honey as the “Latter Rain” descends upon “The Land”.
As the Gray Whale had to traverse across the entire American continent, do we see a beacon of the future aliyah of the Lost Tribes of Israel living today in North America? They were the descendants of the Pilgrims and the Founding families from Northern Europe who populated Canada and America in the 17th century. As the American colonists populated the East coast of the former Thirteen Original Colonies, the Atlantic Gray Whales who once populated the Eastern Seaboard of the United States disappeared.
But the mystery evens become greater; the indigenous American Indian populations whose ancestors once lived in the region of America’s Four Corners called Atzlan possibly were the descendants of the House of Manasseh, one of the two sons of Joseph, the famed Israelite Viser of Egypt. The call of the Pacific-Northwest Gray Whale may be also the call for the aliyah of the Eskimos of the Pacific Northwest, and the descendants of the American and Meso-American Indians that built huge civilizations from the Mound Civilizations in North America to the Great Mayan and Aztec Pyramids in Mexico, Central and South America.

It’s time to open our spiritual eyes. The first “scout” of the Gray Whales may be heralding the hidden truth, that the 2012 Mayan End of the World Age, with the coming era of spiritual enlightenment, may be a second witness that the Eternal One of Israel will open the eyes, and give the Lost Tribes of Israel a new heart, as they wake into a new reality of their chosen relationship with their G-d, the G-d of Israel.
